As part of their positioning work that was happening, Rodan + Fields underwent a rebrand. I led the development of the new identity and visual strategy as well as the brand book design and rollout plan.

The strategy was to assert Rodan + Fields’ innovation through stronger storytelling around dermatology and the Rodan + Fields Berkeley lab—a true account of the science, rigor and discipline behind every Rodan + Fields product. They will allow raw, behind the scenes access to their derm-designed innovation and global network of scientists that gives the consumer a reason to believe in the brand.

They will use storytelling—beyond what is visual—as a way of joining the worlds of skin/hair and lifestyle and bring it back to the essence of “real people”. No more stiffly-posed, awkwardly-smiling application shots. Get people out of the bathroom and into their lives, allow them to show their authentic and holistic self.
